I will be running in my undies this February so kids like Bryce can grow up happy and healthy.
Bryce is and always will be a perfectly imperfect little boy. Around his first birthday, his family got the results back that confirmed he had Neurofibromatosis (NF) type 1. Their entire worlds changed with that diagnosis. They never dreamed their little boy would have to endure so much.
Around his 2nd birthday, he had an MRI that showed he had bilateral optic gliomas (two tumors on both of his eye nerves) that were jeopardizing his eyesight. As the tumors got larger, his doctors at Children’s Hospital suggested chemotherapy. HE WAS TWO YEARS OLD! Every week for over a year, Bryce endured needle sticks and sickness from the toxic chemo being pumped into him, which would “hopefully” make his tumors stay stable or shrink. Thankfully, his chemo worked, his tumors did shrink and have remained stable for over a year now!
Bryce has routinely been in physical, occupational, aquatic, and speech therapies. He has low muscle tone that makes normal things for you and me super hard for him.
NO CHILD SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS! You can help by donating or joining out team of undie-clad runners. Your donation will provide critical funding that will allow for treatments, clinical trials and ultimately will fund the research to find a cure for NF.
Together we can be the difference in the lives of children like Bryce and help #endNF.
