I will be running in my undies this February, all in an effort to raise funds to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis (NF), a disorder that affects 1 in 3000 births and can cause tumors to grow anywhere on or in the body. I run for my son Jack, and the too many others affected by this horrible disorder. I run for Drew, our hero and leader, who lost his life fighting NF. We promised him we would continue to fight - and we will.
Each day can bring a new and terrible challenge to the patient faced with NF. Complications with NF can lead to disfigurement, blindness, bone deformity, loss of limbs, learning disorders, deafness and even death, to name a few. Jack has had to face more challenges than any child should, including - but not limited to - a year of chemotherapy, brain surgery and eye surgery.
We, at CureNFwithJack, are running in our undies because we believe that hard work, funding research, and hope will lead to a day that we end NF. It is our goal to end NF within Jack's lifetime.
I sincerely thank you, CureNFwithJack thanks you, and the millions of families - including mine - who can benefit from your support and efforts thank you.
